Yoga Is Not Just Physical Exercise, But a Way of Life: Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh

Agra/Lucknow : On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh participated in a grand yoga session at the Eklavya Sports Stadium in Agra, where he performed yoga alongside hundreds of yoga enthusiasts, local citizens, and school students.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasized that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic way of life. He urged people of all age groups to make yoga a part of their daily routine to improve both physical and mental well-being.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, promotes global health, environmental sustainability, and holistic wellness. Minister Singh underlined how yoga benefits not only individuals but also society and the environment as a whole.

The event began at 6:00 AM and witnessed participation from students, trainers, administrative officials, and members of various civil society groups. Minister Singh’s message was clear: regular yoga practice can help reduce stress, promote inner peace, and build a disciplined, healthy lifestyle.

Speaking at the event, he said, “Yoga is one of India’s greatest ancient traditions, gifted to the world by our sages. It unites the body, mind, and soul and symbolizes the rich cultural legacy of India.” He further praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts, which led to the global recognition of June 21 as International Yoga Day by the United Nations.

Simultaneously, Mukesh Meshram, Principal Secretary of Tourism, Culture, and Religious Affairs, participated in a similar International Yoga Day event held in Gautam Buddha Nagar, showcasing the state’s commitment to promoting yoga across all districts.

Minister Jaiveer Singh concluded by encouraging every citizen to integrate yoga into daily life for a healthier, stress-free, and more harmonious existence, reaffirming that yoga is the key to personal well-being and collective societal progress.
